For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. -Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV)

Welcome to “Saved by His Grace.” This blog is something I first felt called to do about a year and a half ago. At the time, I sensed that I needed more time to grow in my relationship with the Lord and to surrender more fully to Him before writing more openly about faith and my own journey.

Writing has always been close to my heart—it has been my first love since childhood, when I filled notebooks with short stories, poems, and song lyrics. In high school, I had the opportunity to write for the school newspaper, and later I chose to pursue that passion more intentionally by majoring in journalism in college.

In the years since college, I’ve continued to write professionally, writing feature stories and profiles about college alumni and students, and I’ve always gotten great joy out of sharing stories of people’s successes and highlighting their hard work.

Since I began growing in my faith, I greatly desired to use the talent that God has given me to write to also help others grow in their faith and even help non-believers and seekers come to know the One who came to set the captives free, Jesus Christ (Luke 4:18). Throughout the past couple years, I’ve been writing blog post-length posts on my thoughts and revelations on faith for my friends and family on Facebook, but I knew now was finally the time to make the leap to starting my own full-fledged blog.

The aim of this blog is to encourage and inspire through Scripture, while sharing personal Bible studies, useful resources, and pieces of my own faith journey. I also share practical wisdom on how to apply God’s Word in everyday life—through prayer, fasting, and continued spiritual growth—based on my own experiences and what God has revealed to me. I desire to help seekers, believers and followers of Christ from all walks of life, whether you have known Christ less than a year or for more than 70 years.

I especially desire to help encourage those who are struggling with anxiety and depression, and those who are coming out of atheism and/or the New Age, because I have personally walked in your shoes. God greatly healed me from depression and severe anxiety, setting this captive free, and He can do the same for you. It is only by His grace that I am saved.

I pray that this blog blesses you and draws you closer to Christ.

Until next time, Shalom, peace be with you.
